From May 2008 until April 2013, Hinton Communications represented a group of impoverished Ecuadorian indigenous peoples who won a $19 billion judgment against Chevron in 2011. During that time, the company placed at least 200 positive news articles, features and television/radio interviews that told the horrific story of how Chevron destroyed a pristine rainforest in the Ecuadorian jungle, harming both the environment and the health of the people who live there.
